Q. Who owns the content created during a video production project?

Answer: Upon completion of a project and final payment, full ownership of the final video content is transferred to the client. Goodsides respects and honors any agreements stating client ownership, ensuring that rights to all footage, edits, and final outputs are clearly outlined in the contract.

Note that most video production projects (on average) are 2-3 months in length from conceptualization to finalization and distribution. This varies greatly and should not be used to benchmark projects.

Q. What measures does Goodsides take to ensure confidentiality and data security during a project?

Answer: Goodsides employs robust data security measures, including encryption for data at rest and in transit, and secure storage behind locked doors or cabinets with onsite security. We utilize containerization to safeguard client information and footage. Additionally, every contractor signs a confidentiality agreement, and our team undergoes annual refreshers on our privacy policies to ensure ongoing compliance and protection.

Q. Are Goodsides’ services compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)?

Answer: Goodsides is committed to compliance with the ADA and ensures that all video productions meet accessibility standards. For projects designated for healthcare sectors, we adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations to protect patient information and privacy. If a purchasing entity or organization wishes to enter into a special agreement prior to us working at their healthcare facility or facilities, just let us know! We sign BAAs.

Q. How does Goodsides handle intellectual property rights in collaborations involving third-party content or partnerships?

Answer: Our subscriptions with various premium stock and motion graphics libraries are carefully managed. We have a double-step review process for licensing content from these resources to ensure compliance with all intellectual property rights and to minimize licensing waste/disorder. When collaborating, we secure necessary licenses and permissions for all third-party materials included in our projects.

Partners and subcontractors are additionally required to go through similar levels of licensing compliance.

Q. What are the terms regarding the use of project footage for Goodsides' promotional purposes?

Answer: Goodsides may request permission to use excerpts from the project for promotional purposes. However, we are committed to respecting client wishes and will remove promotional materials upon request. We never share work from private or in-house/internal projects, and typically, 99% of these projects are already shared by clients on social media or broadcast widely.

Our intention is to use the Goodsides platform to amplify messaging that benefits your audience and resident populations. This is quite different than working within private industry or commercial sectors.

Q. Does Goodsides handle projects for international clients?

Answer: Currently, Goodsides does not work internationally but anticipates potentially working with NGOs and large international charities in the future. We are prepared to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations relevant to any such projects.

Q. What is the procedure if there is a need to amend any legal terms during an ongoing project?

Answer: Amendments to legal terms during a project are handled through a formal amendment process, involving discussions and mutual agreement, and documented in a signed amendment to ensure clarity and legal integrity. We may also install a clause about reviewing the contract prior to the end of the term.
